General speak: the word general applies to a large whatever, an indication of something not as yet specified, a general acceptance of something like general Education, and other things related to general speak.
Specifics can be and usually are certain things being addressed yet not specifically in a general sense.

Specifically the general topic of your Thread starter is confusion.

The choices are like comparing apples to oranges.
General to me means: Applicable to, relating to,broad,involving,not limited to.
Specific to me means: Detailed,distinct,clear cut,unique.

BE SPECIFIC Just about as specific as you can get with good examples of both words.

example:

• wild deuce's general topic, in the General Truck Drivers Forum, is causing cerebral hemorrhage.
