Default Hi There

It's nice to actually have a board for us who don't drive OTR.
I'm a dump truck driver in Texas. I guess you could say I have the easiest of the dump truck driving jobs though. I drive an '03 Pete daycab with a belly dump trailer for a local excavation company. I came straight out of school and got a job doing this 2 months later. I've been there almost a year and a half now. The pay is great but when the weather is like it's been the last few days, man is it rough on the bank account. I would like to learn to drive a dump and pup but I've heard it's a whole different animal. I'm been leery of learning to drive an end dump though. I've heard they can turn over fairly easy if you don't watch what you;re doing.
Well everyone be safe out there regardless of what kind of dump truck you drive.

Default This will help

This might sound crazy but what I do while Im at work driving my daycab Mack is take notes of all the trucking companies you see out there on the road. You mentioned you want to drive a Dump, identify the trucks that are dump if you can and write the name of the company down. By the end of the day you'll at least 10-15 companies I guarantee. Thats how I found my second driving job when I wasn't satisfied with the first. Anyway the main thing you want to remember when you become a dump driver is to always be on level ground when you dump and if possible dump the air in the tractor and the trailer. Good luck.
