Default Question: DAC report

Got a friend who's been driving for years, just applied with a new company & they told him his DAC report has a 'not elligible for rehire' report for a company he worked for 10 years ago. Never had a problem with the company, left on good terms, no accidents, great work history, etc. There's no reason for a negative comment like that. What does he do to fight this? Company he's applying with now may not hire him because of this. Is there a way to dispute it, get a copy of report. He had no idea there was anything there, he's worked for 2 other companies since this one and no one ever mentioned it.

Thanks.

DAC is such BS. Boy,I'm not sure how you would go about fighting a bad DAC report. I would check the OOIDA website. I'd bet they would have info on DAC and maybe a contact to help your friend out. First thing I would do is contact someone at his previous employment and find out what the heck is up with the "not eligible for rehire" status... The sick part about this is the company can make that selection on his DAC report without giving a reason or explanation........... I think OOIDA has a Lawsuite filed against DAC and it's parent company!

Default Ten years ago??

I worked at a Trucking Company in '06 for 1 month and the part on the DAC/USIS form that states Eligible for rehire has a flat NO, and it isn't even a question by the potential employers that I've applied to for work.
The other wording used is: To be determined by Safety department, or Safety Department decision.

There has to be another reason or other reasons why this person isn't being considered eligible or that company is very nit picky or whiny and will present other hurdles later.
Best to go elsewhere.

USIS | The Nation's Leading Security and Information Services Provider

click onto my link...

then scroll down to "consumers"...

go down the page and look for the link to obtain a free copy, and print up that form

fill it out completely and be sure to also get a photo copy of the drivers license AND social security card..

in the "check boxes", make sure "free yearly report" is checked, we are allowed at least 1 free copy per year....then mail it ASAP

now when the DAC/USIS report comes in, go over it closely..

then if anything isn't true or he wishes to "dispute it", go back to the home page of DAC, same steps as before, now scroll down to "dispute form"... print it out, fill that out, license and social security card photo copies are NEEDED AGAIN, and write down what is the dispute. then mail it ASAP

let DAC do its job, they will send him another free copy with his "dispute/rebuttle" response.
