Default Pups on the road.

Hello Im new here. New to the trucking thing actually. My husband is a trucker and loves it. I'am able to go on the road with him and so is our dog.

I've seen some truckers hop out of their trucks with puppies that are only weeks old and I'm curious as to how those truckers deal with puppies that are still in the potty training stages of their lives.

I know you cant stop the truck every 20 minutes to let a pup out to pee, so how do they/you do it? I'd really like to know. Do they used litter boxes?

I got Katie when she was about 10 weeks old. She had one accident the first night I got her, but that was it. I guess Boston Terriers are a pretty smart breed. Either that or I got lucky. She could outlast me on the potty breaks.

Most dogs will not mess in their bed. I think Katie thought of her truck (that's right, it wasn't mine. I just made the payments.) as her bed, so she kept it clean.

Katie will be 11 years old in October and doesn't go trucking any more. She had a little more than 1/2 million miles on her when we stopped the "living on the road" thing.

Katie shortly after I got her.

Katie 2 years ago before I sold my truck.

Great thanks. How often did you let her outwhen she was a pup?

I think some drivers don't care if the dog goes in the truck or not. I was fueling once and saw the truck next to me had 2 little monkeys in it. They both had diapers on and were hopping all around in there. That is when it dawned on me; they were wearing diapers because they HAD to. Want to slip seat with that guy?? I had a bunch of questions for him but I never saw him get in and pull out.

its like i always say, anyone can drive a truck forward, even a monkey can do it..... its backing up that takes skill, and experience...

so i guess i was right after all....since you didn't see the driver, maybe those monkey's were the driver(s).......!!!!
