If I were you I would look into some more companies that will train you. Don't narrow it down to just those two. I have heard that Swift has a good training program though.
Do want to drive van or flatbed?
Go to the OTR forums and google the companies there, alot of them will train you.Or you can go to a truck driving school and alot of companies will reimburse your tuition.
Good luck and welcome to the board.

Neither one. I'd as soon slit my wrists then drive for either. Your training will be short and sweet at both.

At swift, you'll most likely be paired up with a "trainer" that has a few weeks more road time than you.
Trainees training trainees, NOT a good idea.

crengland is REEFER and ONLY REEFER. If you want a Reefer gig, there are other companies that pull Reefers as well like Stevens Transport.

Talk to Schneider or go to :: Pumpkindriver Homepage :: for more info.
They have what is understood to be a better Training program than some others.
I am NOT a promoter or recruiter for Schneider nor have I ever driven for them.

from what i have been told by a current CR England driver, who has been with them for nine months now is this:
he went with a trainer for a few weeks, about 4 i think he said...
THEN, ANOTHER trainer went with him for about 2-3 weeks, and the newbie told me what he told this 2nd trainer....he said, "i'm going to think of you as a Jehova Witness"...........
that 2nd trainer asked why.........
the newbie said, because you ARE GOING to try and convince me to become an owner-operator through your lease/purchase plan, and i am going to ignore you like i ignore a Jehova's Witness"..........
so you see, from what that newbie told me, they (CR England) apparently try to push you to get onto the lease/purchase program as soon as possible.........
i'd stay way from them, if only for that reason........
by the way, that newbie told me he wants to complete a full year with them, so that by January, he can go else where's.........
