Default Boyd bros vs pgt trucking

I cant seem to decide between these two companies. The thing that sticks out is that pgt pays % and boyd pays.38 cpm plus tarp pay. I love flatbed and would not do not have it anyway. I live in the north east and would like to run hard. Could someone shed some light on this.

I've been going through the same thing.
PGT accepted me and wants me at orientation on Mon.10/20
I've been waiting to hear from Maverick because they start at .40cpm.
If Maverick wants me I'm going there.
How much experience do you have?
If you have over 6 mon. Maverick wont put you with a trainer.
With PGT you have to have 6 mo. of flatbed hauling steel or coils.
I don't know much about Boyd Bros. actually,I don't know anything about them.
Everyone I've talked to about Maverick speaks highly of them. I would look at them if I were you.

I have read some good stuff as well as some negative post on maverick. I have one year flatbed experience but i have never hauled any steel. The company that i work for hauls lumber ,wallboards etc. I just read a post on thetruckersreport.com website about maverick firing spree and that stuff scares me. What really interesting is that they were firing even their top drivers!!!!!!!!!!!

I talked to my recruiter today from Maverick. She said that awhile ago new drivers as well as vets were failing the driving test because they couldn't follow simple instructions and they were speeding on the exit ramps. They got sent home. If you ask around enough you'll always hear something negative about any company. The drivers I've talked to said they all love it.
If you have experience with wallboard you'll get on at PGT no problem, they have a wallboard division. Their orientation is only 3 1/2 days too.
Welcome to the board by the way.

I ran into alot of pgt drivers while working as a shuttle driver for national gypsum and one thing i always heard from them was how low their wages were. Pgt has alot of freight but pays its drivers less that other flat co. I am scheduled for orientation in two weeks. The only reason why i took the job is because i need steel experience and they have a yard thats 15 minutes from my house. You`ve got to start somewhere right?. I plan on running otr.
