Unhappy Pretty screwed at the moment, any ideas?

I’m trying to come off of SSD, all I need is a job. I have made a full recovery after 6 years, I have no physical limitations. Got my CDL back (gave it up, never anticipated getting better, could not have passed physical either). Been through truck school with my wife, both of us are fully endorsed. Driving records are great, etc…

Here’s the deal. Nobody will touch me since I have no work history for the past 6 years. Wished I had known that 2 months ago when I forked out the dough for 2 tuitions. Any ideas? I live in the Phoenix AZ area. If someone knows of a company that would take us, I’d be sure you got credit if applicable.

Any other ideas would be great. Our bags are packed and we’re ready to drive. If I’d had any idea how tough it would be I would have considered another avenue, but I do miss driving a lot. Please, I need ideas!

Thanks for the help!

doesn't make sense why they won't touch you 2 right now. esp since you 2 just went thru a school. times are slow right now and companies are more resistant to hiring right now. all i can say is give it some more time and apply too everybody out there. pick up a couple of truck job books located at the truck stops and make phone calls. i know knight has a big operation in arizona but dont know anything about them. i wish you 2 the best of luck and keep hitting the pavement. something will come thru eventually. unfortunitly you might have to start out at one of the big mill companies for some recent exp.

I'd love to go to Knight, they want 6 mos driving, no students. I'm bumming hard. I'll stop by and pick up a job book tomorrow, good idea!

I appreciate the help. Keep the ideas coming!

Conway wants at least a year non-driving work history. Would love to go there. I'll check into the others for sure.

sorry. if i come across anything or remember anybody who hires new drivers with exp but nothing recent i'll let you know. i know they suck but look into england (reefer). i know they hire previous exp drivers. person i know hasn't driven in 5 years and they called her today in a matter of fact. not a great company at all and i dont reccommend them at all but sometimes you have to do what you gotta do to get that exp again to go work for a so called good company.
