Question Been posted before??

I'm curious now about whether or not a thread has been started at some time regarding People/Drivers that work for Trucking Companies doing Equipment recoveries.
I'm interested in this aspect of Trucking however unsure of the correct approach or what is the correct approach or is there a correct approach!??

How would this be advertised in the event of the need?

Thank You to any and all answers whether or not including sarcasm.

"equipment recovery" can mean at LEAST 2 things...

first.....towing

second....Repo-man.....

which is it....???

if IT IS (repo) then most times its an ordinary repo outfit in which the people are CDL licensed drivers doing ALL types of recovery...

if its towing, than that's hard/dirty work, which at times, can be like the repo man when you are on "police call"....

My guess is that he's talking about recovering lost/stolen trailers and things like that. I know when I was with US Xpress they had a "hot list" of trailers they couldn't account for. We were supposed to keep our eyes out for them. They weren't necessarily stolen, just lost in the system.

I don't actually know how you'd go about getting started, other than contacting the various companies to see what the process would be. Ask for the Loss Prevention department or something like that.

almost any trucking company has such a "hot list"........

for instance, when i was at Victory Express, out of Medway, Ohio (now US Express) they had a "hot list"...

another of my former employers, an LTL company had a "hot list".......

he never responded, so i'll at least (for now) go with he's inquiring about a Repo company...??

I "didn't respond" because I'm not always online even though I not currently working anywhere.

Yes, the Recovery folk that recover Trailers and Tractors from where ever but NOT repo involved.
Vehicles that were abandoned or the Driver(s) got arrested for drug crap, stuff like that.

Thank You Pro1 and medic92!!

Fleetnet has a program in place for such things. Usually through an approved roadside repair facility. While I was working in a outside (roadside) shop we did get one call, but I was too busy with scheduled work to finish the run.
I do believe they pay all expenses and ensure your return to your original area.
