Default Hello

Hello,
To make a long story short I have always thought I would enjoy driving a truck...I went to college, graduated and have always pondered the idea....

Last November of 2007 I had a weight lifting accident where 765lbs fell on my face, leaving me blind in my right eye.

Now, is there anyway to get a cdl, maybe a docs note, because you can still drive a regular vehicle with one eye...I have heard varying answers but thought I would come to the professionals thinking they would know. Is there anyway possible to pass the DOT test.

Thank you very much and God Bless.

Are there any waivers now?

I am very sorry to hear of your accident, Stonewall, but with no vision at all in your eye a Class A and/or Hazmat are not going to be allowed by DOT. The only good news is it *MIght* be possible to get a class B for local work in your state, but I am baseing that on a waiver given to someone I know over twenty years ago who had been a driver beforehand. I can't say much else then to try the DMV and see what they say. Good luck to you. -Ranger309

Thanks a lot, currently I have my own home improvement business and i know that if i wanted to get a bigger trailer i would have to get a dot test, and they said that I could do the waiver deal.

Thanks a lot for all the info.
