Default Pick up trucks from South Carolina with 20ton presses

Is this an east coast thing?
Every year I see these convoys of pick ups from SC loaded with presses and motor cranes.
They have to stop at every mechanic shop and I guess they can't go home until all is sold

Could be Gypsies. They prefer to be called Irish Travelers. They have a large colony just over the river from me in South Carolina. The menfolk travel about conducting their dubious business while the women and children confine themselves in their enclave. They tend to stay legit around here. There's an old saying about not s****ing where you eat.

Thanks Jack knife. I didn't know that, and here I am accusing my neighbors of being up to no good.

Is that sort of like the guys you see parked at Motels with a tractor trailer full of tools? They'll advertise locally and stay a couple days then move on. I've never checked 'em out but they advertise Makita tools, i.e.
