Default Hazmat endorsment

Hello

well its just me again.. i was looking to get my hazmat endorsment and was looking at the qualifications: One saying that having or distrubtion of a controlled dangerous substance. Then says that states vary on the amount to be a felony.. I admit i was busted almost 20 yrs ago with some in a film container . Would this restrict me on getting my hazmat endorsment...

Will a conviction for marijuana possession or use disqualify a driver from holding a
hazmat endorsement?
A: Only if the applicant was convicted within the last seven years, or was released from prison
within the last five years, for felony possession. State laws on the quantity of marijuana
required for the offense to be considered a felony vary. Typically, however, to be convicted of
felony marijuana possession a person must possess a quantity of marijuana greater than an
amount considered for "personal use." For exa mple, in Illinois marijuana possession is not
considered a felony until a person is in possession of more than 30 grams. In Washington, the
quantity is 40 grams, and in Texas, 112 grams. Misdemeanor drug offenses will not disqualify
a driver from holding a hazmat endorsement under this rule.

the person (or place) providing this information is going on information he or she got someplace else. IT IS NOT (or may be) SPECIFIC TO YOUR STATE's RULES...........

i would get SPECIFIC information from YOUR STATE......

now on the chance you can still get your hazmat endorsement, you still need to find a job.....when filling out any job application, READ ALL the fine print carefully.....if it asks for ANY FELONY CONVICTIONS EVER, then you know you need to answers that correctly..........this can still hinder you from a job...or not.............

best of luck to you, and please let us know what's going on.....

good luck to you. one mistake 20 years ago should not disqualify you from a hazmat endorsement. employment apps usually refer back to 7 years of your employment record. But never lie on a app it will come back to haunt you.

I've been lying on ALL APPLICATIONS since I first began working at age 17 or 18 and NEVER a problem.
Where it asks: Have you ever had a DWI, DUI I say yes, to the one in '91.
I have had 5 before then in 2 states dating back to '77.
NO Trucking Company or ANY OTHER Company has ever discovered them nor they shall.
I had a minor conviction of possession of Marijuana in California (either in the late 70s or early 80s), NEVER MENTIONED IT TO ANY Company, NEVER had a problem.
I have performed many small thefts of minor items in California from the latter 60s through the early 80s, never mentioned them nor I shall. Some of these actions I paid for afterwords where other actions were never discovered.
I've had other convictions for Alcohol related offenses JUST in South(where one DUI occurred in '86) and North Carolina before the '91 DUI and have NEVER mentioned them nor shall I.

The fallacy in the belief that "not mentioning all
transgressions upon society will come back and bite one in the Donkey"
is just that; a fallacy.
Look at our Political zeroes for confirmation.

Not everything stated by everyone here at TruckingBoards is true, nor shall much if anything heard on a cb be real except the occasional Bear report, maybe.

Fantasy and story telling is the number one ideal in Tales of Trucking and this post may or not concur.

Mention your past or do not, it is entirely up to YOU!!
