JennynIllinois is on a distinguished road
Default Hello I am hoping one of you all will be able to help

.....

or at least give me a direction on which way to turn..

My bestfriend is a driver. He was recently let go by his company due to tickets.

He has 5 speeding tickets in 3 years and 3 in 2 years. Two will come off his MVR late next year. One of the tickets was only 3 miles an hour over the others were less than 10.

I have been looking all over the web for job leads for him.

Is there any semi-reputable company that will hire him with this type of MVR or should we just wait a year and see what happens.

Thanks in advance for your help and advice

Jeni

he might want to first start with going to a driving school and getting the points off his cdl, if he can. second i am not sure but i could swear the cdl gets suspended after too many tickets for six months or up to a year. that i would definitly check out as each state has different rules about the cdl. third and here's the hard part, i have no clue that any company will touch him right now for awhile. they are being more and more picky on who they choose to drive for them and with a safety record like that they will pass him up. they frown on even 1 ticket (esp speeding) and will reject multiple quickly. his best bet is too find other work until the last one is at at least 3 years ago maybe more, up to 5 yrs. there is always maybe a shot at whse work working into a small box truck eventually but that is even iffy. the biggest issue is insurance and most companies insurance will not cover a safety record like that. this is just my 1/2 cent worth and maybe he needs to grow up a little and realize speeding will mess your cdl up and slow down and see the scenary.

this is in some instances the normal reaction by some company's........

i am right now, thinking that some of those tickets are "get even tickets" the cops gave him........what in God's name do i mean...??

he probably shot-off his mouh at the cop when he got pulled over....i mean think about it, ONLY 3 miles per hour OVER the limit....???? and this is even if HE IS TELLING YOU THE TRUTH....!!! right now, i DO NOT BELIEVE HIS STORY......for a stinking 3 ,miles...the cop would have stayed in his cruiser and watched his DVD player......

so, i think he's either lying about the EXACT SPEED he was doing, or he shot off his mouth at the cop, giving the cop a "boatload of attitude"....

then, the 10 mile per hour OVER the limit....?? sure it wasn't 20, or 30 miles OVER the limit...??

i mean, on MOST highways, NO ONE is doing the 65 MPH that is posted. EVERYONE is going at least 10-15 mph's OVER the limit.........

so until we get actual proof of his EXACT SPEED, i myself and going to "surmise" one of several things:

1) he was going WAY OVER the speed he said he was

2) he gave the cop an attitude, and the cop got even by writting out a ticket.

3) he has shown he has NO REGARDS for public safety by his CONSTANT SPEEDING INFRACTIONS......

and if it were me, and i owned ANY trucking company, with todays economy and he needed a job, but a brand new student driver came to me.......

i'd hire the student first, over HIM any time, day or night....

its going to be incredibly tough for him to get a job with a "reputable" company.........at this point, i DO NOT wish him good luck...

he "made his bed", now he has to sleep in it

may i suggest the unemployment line......

or perhaps a new job like, "beach sand groomer".....????

good luck, and by the way, is he a man or a mouse, where he needs you to do this for him...?? can't he stand on his own 2 feet and be the man and find a job himself...?? after all, the job ain't going to hire you, or maybe they WILL, over him.....

nope, the economy is dictating the "cream of the crop" to be hired....right now.....he's the rotten apple at the bottom of the barrel...

you either like or dislike MY opinions, thoughts.....i don't care....i hold nothing back, and when someone who is SUPPOSED TO BE A PROFESSIONAL screws up like this, as many times as he has, the problem lies with-in, not from the opinions of others...........
