Wink Worst typist on earth

When I was registering for classes my freshman year in high-school my buddies and I were discussing what classes to choose I said that I might take a typing course, wich resulted in a lot of kidding from my buddies,so I decided to schedule something else, after all if I needed someting typed I'd have a secretary,or so my dumb ***** buddies said,I have regretted that decision ever since!Later that school year I looked in the typing class.EVERY HOT GIRL in school was enrolled in that class!!! No guys were in there, talk about access.now I sit at my keyboard hunting and pecking ,taking forever to post something.I'd just like to take a moment to thank my old buds.Did any of your H.S.buddies talk you into something you still regret?,It might be fun to hear about it.

nope, none of my former buddies talked me out of anything... i was back then as i sometimes still am now, a "lone wolf" sort of person............

as for typing..........i never took that up in school, primarily because i went the "voc" way, and who needs to know how to type when you're "turning wrenches"....??

in any event, here i sit, with just a little bit of typing skill(s). i had gone and bought a typing program, "Mavis Beacon" and installed it. for several days i would "peck away" at the keyboard following the lesson. i can do fine, not a speed demaon, and i still NEED to look at the keyboard while tryping. i can use all of (about 4 to 6) fingers when i type....!!

of course, mistakes are common, just not as much as when i first tried.............. i very often spell "just"....jsut...

and the word "the" occassionaly is spelt.....ther........

oh well, expert typist i am not..........

good thing for "preview"..........before i post........!!!!

I took eight weeks of typing in 7th grade. Years later when I got my first computer I started chatting in chat rooms. I still vaguely remembered where the keys were and built from there. I can type somewhere around 70-80 wpm these days, all from eight lousy weeks of class in 1983.

Actually I do not recall ANY adversities from class mates in high school regarding Typing class(es), yet I did get some flack from cooking classes yet I could cook where others could not.
I do recall having the less intelligent idea that Typing was for sissies, nerds and girls.
My father was a rather good typist and my mother surpassed him. My sister, like them, could and can type well.
I type by looking at the keyboard and by using mainly 2 fingers; one of each hand. I proof read BEFORE posting.

Looking back, I wish I HAD taken the Typing class(es).

C.K.a male taking cooking classes now would'nt get a second thought out of administrators, and teachers now, in the early 70's that was called home-ec and a male trying to enroll for that would have got you sent to the school Psychologist real fast. Some things have changed for the better.

I thought I would be engaged in manly pursuits and would have no use for an administative skill. Laptops & Qualcomms? Whoda thunk it?
