Things are still good here at Dot. It's a touch slower than usual for this time of year, but the business is still growing and gaining new customers almost every day. I'm still getting my miles and money.

One of the reasons I chose this company is because they've been in business since 1964 and have never had a single layoff. That trend isn't changing anytime soon, and I feel secure in my job.

Trucking jobs in the food service industry, although they slow down, rarely, if ever, see layoffs.

After all, people got to eat to survive.

Default Don't make waves

Its not only lay offs its complete companies going belly up.

All I can suggest is; If you have a job KEEP IT. Jumping to another carrier right now is not a good idea. You will be low man on the totem pole and get the leftovers and scraps that senior drivers did not already get.

While working do the best job you can. Save your employer money if possible through reducing idle times and preventing claims through verifying seals and having customers break the seal so any missing freight is not charged back to the carrier. Keep your tires aired up and avoid tickets or accidents.

At this point in the game we are all replaceable. The drivers that keep their jobs will be the ones that provide the best service and protect their employers continued profitability.

Don't make waves right now or you may find yourself without a boat (let alone a paddle).

Hey Medic92, I'm thinking about Dot Foods. What can you tell me, good and bad? How often are you unloading, and how hard is it? How many miles per week? Thanks in advance.

We are going through growth at this time. We can take on another 75 drivers and put them to work hauling bulk products immediately.

Earnings can be well over 100,000 annually with good benefits. There is no indication of any slowdown in the future for us.
