wtf? is every university in the usa doing studies on truck drivers or the transportation industry? This has to be the 10th time i have seen this in this month alone. i just don't believe every institution is that curious about trucking. we drive you eat and got clothes and all the other little things in life you cherish, even that little fancy computer your typing on. if we don't drive and do our jobs your cold, hungry and trying to survive on the streets.

I wouldn't be surprised if there are a lot of universities studying truck drivers right now. Driver retention is a growing problem in the trucking industry. Also, I am very grateful for all the stuff you guys do. I am not trying to disrespect anyone. I am just trying to gather some data for school.

It would be helpful if you could adjust your poll to accept more than one answer. Like the guy said in the movie "It's never just one thing". In my case, I was looking for insurance benefits and home time when I chose my current job. They carry equal weight with me. 15 years ago it might have been nice equipment and high pay. I didn't answer your survey because I've never focused on just one thing.

Thanks for you feedback, I'm not sure how to go back and edit to allow multiple choices. I wanted the poll to show the overall most important factor among drivers, and the survey in my post to allow you to rate the importance of each factor individually by just typing in a number 1-5 next to each factor.

I agree with RickyRicardo, "It's never just one thing". I doubt that many will vote on your poll based on the the way that it is set up. As for me it would have been a combination of all but the last 2 choices. That is assuming that company culture is referring to it being union or non union. If not you might want to add that to the survey.
