To our Fellow Yellow Roadway Drivers

I know this is prolly the wrong place to be posting this, but I think you all have enough going on with your board now and don't really need this there.

I just feel You all need to know that others out here are thinking about what will happen. You all have a very hard decision to make.

My dad called me this evening to tell me that one of his best friends and a man that I have known since I was a baby, that works for Roadway outta NC called to say he is retiring, he has over 25 years in. He didn't tell my dad the real reason behind it and after hearing someone mention it and checking the board here, now I know why.

I know alot of you have that tough decision to make.

Just remember there are other drivers who do care about You all and what happens to You all.

It is a weird time but it seems that there is always something going on that makes us all get all lathered up then when the time comes it turned out to be a non-event. I often feel embarassed that I got so worked up when the wait is over. I'm hoping that the same will happen this time too.

Good luck guys. I am a city driver at ABF with a lot of friends at both Yellow & Roadway. One friend has 33 years with Yellow, he is looking forward to retirement. Best wishes to all of U and your families, From your brothers and sisters at ABF. No one needs this at this time of years. It will probably effect us to sooner or later. We will be pulling for U guys.

After the 20 -25% drop in OTR wages over the past few years, LTL is ripe for the picking. I can see all the other LTL companies announcing the same need, based on what we lose. Its not a good time in this country for the working man.
