MPG still a concern for you??

With fuel prices dropping, albeit slower than gas and probably temporary, I was wondering how many are still into squeezing the best MPG out of your equipment. Perhaps dropping fuel prices have allowed you to go back to business as usual?? I'm a company driver but wondered if it is still as big of an issue with $3 fuel. How much would fuel have to cost before you relax your standards??

If i were an o/o, saving fuel would still be important to me. There were guys having all of their fuel paid for with the surcharge when prices were high. Even with them being relatively low again, wouldn't you still want some extra money in your pocket? Though it would be considerably less than a couple of months ago.

You would think it is still a concern but I have noticed that truck speed around here is back up again, passing my poor 61.5 mph slug quickly. That's what prompted me to start this. It never stops amazing me how short some peoples resolve and memory is. Many see this as a silly question on an internet post, but I think real life practice is different from internet chatter...

Trucks usually get the same fuel mileage regardless of fuel price. Machines know not the difference regarding fuel prices.

and as a company driver, since i do not get any bonus for saving fuel, and my truck(s) are turned down, the mileage the truck gets doesn't matter to me.
