Default Couple Questions

Hi everybody I have been thinking about enrolling into the Sage driving school in Indianapolis and have a couple questions.

I have one DUI from Feb 03. and one speeding ticket from a couple months ago. It was a 55 in a 25 school zone. Will these be an issue in finding a job? I am leaning towards paying out of pocket for the training so I don't get stuck with a year contract but want to make sure I am hire able.
It also seems that I will probably have no choice but to go with an OTR company. Would there be a possibility that I could maybe get a job driving a dump truck or something that is more local without previous experience?
I am married with no children but we are planning on trying this spring and really don't want to miss out on the pregnancy or child birth. Although we are willing to make the sacrifice if necessary.
Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

that speeding ticket is nothing to sneeze at.......that one MIGHT hurt you.......especially, in a school zone.......it CAN BE as bad as a construction zone.......in regards to the overall safety issue........

as for the DUI, even though its that old, this can still be a problem.......maybe, perhaps, if you had sme sort of counseling, and can prove this, it might go a long way in proving you corrected your problem, but this too is no guarantee..........

yes, PAY for the education on your own....

as for any type of local job(s), with things the way they are now, and another BIG trucking company about to go bust, there will be MORE drivers out of work soon........

they might (or will) grab up those local jobs........

so, you NEED to be squeaky clean, from this day forward....

I second Goinforcoffee. You are an insurance risk. In these tight economic times who would risk allowing you to operate an 80,000 lb vehicle after you've already demonstrated past reckless behavior behind the wheel?

And that is the nail in the coffin. The DUI for the most part is old enough that it would not effect you that much.

THE 30MPH OVER IN A SCHOOL ZONE JUST CLOSED THE DOOR.

Was you DL suspended at all for this violation? That is a serious offense. I would be surprised if it wasn't. Don't waste your money paying for school. You will have a very hard time finding a job in this industry.
