Default what if I get an a-hole for a trainer?

Hi folks, maybe this has been asked and answered before - my apologies for that - but what should a student driver do if his trainer turns out to be an a-hole? I know about calling the driver manager. But I'm hoping that someone can offer other ideas. I'm not a tough guy or a fighter, so asking him to step outside is not a good idea. Thanks.

Also: the question about securing property is important, also. I won't bring my laptop until I go solo - no point in tempting fate. I can keep my MP3 player in my fanny pack - it's small enough to fit there. But I wonder if anyone has any helpful answers. Thanks much.

By the way, I should mention that I'm a student driver for Swift Transportation now.

depends on what you call a a--hole, you might get a trainer that is strict and actually teach you something instead of letting you slide by

I have no problem with strictness - just disrespect and obnoxiousness. I got some disrespect at the truck school I attended, but that was addressed by the school's director. But thanks for the feedback.

Just wondering if you have ever dealt with customers.Get accustomed to disrespect being a truckdriver. It can come in many forms(customers, dispatchers, punk DMV officials, motoring public[letting you know youre #1],etc).Turning the other cheek is a requirement sometimes...GL

then you have entered the WRONG business..........

get USED TO IT..........

if you think you got disrespect at the trucking school and you reported it, you probably set yourself up for LESS training than you were supposed to get. were you a cry baby there...?? did you stay inside of any building when the weather was bad?? did you clown around or were you some sort of "guy in da hood" trying to impress others with your "hood talk"..?? YOUR attitude in school probably gave you back what you had coming to you....

the truckers and the trucking industry, and truckstop employee's and so on and so forth, aren't always (if ever) going to treat you with kid gloves........

as for your trainier being an A-Hole..........so what, if he IS..........live with it, and be done with your training........this isn't Fanasy Island, this is the REAL WORLD.

If the trainer has been training for any length of time, you'll be the one they want to get rid of. They'll consider it your first lesson in being Pond Scum. This will be a position you will either learn to handle or you will leave the industry. You should have joined the army if you wanted better treatment. At least they are required to make sure you have somewhat humane living conditions, medical treatment and food. Your company, (almost all of them) care(s) only about their bottom line. Welcome to the trenches.
