mistybell is on a distinguished road
Default Want to be interviewed for Truckers News?

I write for Truckers News magazine, and I'm working on a story about the economy and its impacts on trucking. I'm looking to talk to a few truckers who have personally felt these impacts (whether that means having been laid off, fewer hauls, lower pay, trouble making ends meet at home, whatever).

I am NOT looking for anyone who only wants to complain about their company or the government.

If you'd like to be included, please send me a PM, and we'll set up an interview either via phone or e-mail.

Thanks,
Misty Bell

Hello Mistybell. You've come to the right place to talk to some quality driver's and others involved in the industry. I think we're all feeling SOME effect, for me it is just a forboding feeling. For too many others it is a right hook from reality. Good luck with your story.

Misty, most of the trucking industry problems would be solved if the govt would reregulate the rates and force them back up to the point where trucking is profitable again. Then force the companies to pay their drivers accordingly instead of expecting us to do 1/2 of our work for free. If the government wants us to have things like more expensive high-tech engines, and generator packs, we need the revenue to purchase them. If you are in business, you are supposed to make at least a reasonable profit, not run backwards, as most trucking companies have been doing...
