Leasing.owner operator

Need some feed back on Leasing from a company or being a owner operator. pros and cons. I currently drive otr for us usxpress. What would it take to get started with your own tractor.

I have never: repeat never seen " a lease from a co" that was good: don't do it

no counting the truck: you need to have about 10k on hand
you need to have "the haul" , "the run" , whatever first
you need your own trailer, whoever is going to rape you on the use of "their trailer"
and you need a place to work on said truck, you can not farm out everything maintenace
and repair related, you have to be able to do some stuff on your own, or you will never make a living
