Default And another dumb question starting truck everyday?

Looking to start CDL training in 4 weeks. A friend already is a driver and he starts his truck everyday and lets it run. Is there a reason for this? I do not want to ask him such a simple question. Does it let companies know where the semis are at (only thing I can think of) or is there another reason.?

Thanks for any input. Steve

he could be doing this to just keep the batteries charged. but by the same token, he's burning up expensive fuel.......

he must have oodell's and oodell's of cash on hand........

a better thing to do perhaps would be to make sure he plugs in the truck to an electrical outlet to keep the engine warm, and maybe also have on hand a "trickle" battery charger, like some of us have for our motorcycles, during storage.

i think the cost of the electricity is far cheaper than the fuel he is wasting, not to mention, polluting the air as well.

Here is what you should do.
Say " Hey dude, why do you start up your truck every day? "
