noob question

Hi all, this is my first post here and I have a question. Is there a specific order to go about when getting your CDL, IE getting the physical/drug test, taking the written tests, taking the road test. I am not going through a school or anything, I'm doing it all on my own. When it comes time for the road test I will be renting a truck and trailer from Roadmaster so that isn't a problem. My main concern is if I need to have the drug test/ physical exam done before the rest or can it wait till last? Thanks in advance.

Might want to see if your physically qualified before you go through the trouble. Make sure your license is clean too.

You need to pass a CDL physical. It is quite stringent.

But, before you get too far involved in this plan, you may wish to check out the rules.

I understand that recently, the laws were changed to require a specific minimum of classroom and road education. Having a friend teach you likely will not qualify.
