Question Nexiq question

If I purchase the Nexiq 201007 Detroit Diesel DDEC I,II Pro-Link Cartridge, it comes with PN 201007 Cartridge, manual, and 12-pin GM adapter. What else do I need and I can use it on my pc correct? If there is something else what and how much? Thanks.

2 years ago we drove a truck and had an aquaintence turn up our fuel(speed control)via cable-computer-truck. We had a freightliner and he used a computer and it only took less than 5 minutes. I was wondering whether there was still diagnostic tool kits out there that do what he did for us still out there at a reasonable price? A person on another site told me all I need is the prolink 9000 scanner with the cartridge and a 6 pinor 9 pin deutsch connector or something and that they don't use it on computers anymore. I just want to get all the information before I purchase thanks and do these kits work on all truck brands like freightliner, pete's, and kw's? Thanks.

I was curious about the Detroit Diesel software. You need the Nexiq adapter. It is wireless. You need the DDEC software to use the link. There is no way to hack these things. Sometimes they leave the password as 0000 or 1111. Other than that you will need proof of ownership to get a seed and a backdoor password. You tell the computer to generate a seed and its good for like 30 mins. You call detroit and they generate a password from the seed. There are bootleg copies of the software on the net. Otherwise it is $700.

Where can I get this bootleg software at and does it cost any? Does it turn the fuel up and down and control the speed and all that stuff/? What is included in the software? Thanks.

I'll PM you a link when I get home. I believe the software does all the heavy duty engines except Volvo or Mack. Of course you do nothing wit hout a password. Also remember the ECM keeps a record of the serial number of your programmer.

This link that you gave me, it says a one time fee of $4.87 well what if you don't have that what other options do I have? What does the adapter look like and how much is it? The DDEC I,II software is what I need correct? That costs at least 4-5 hundred dollars online. I saw on www.dieselsoutions.com, and Auto Repair Manuals: Car, Truck, Motorcycle, ATV, & Marine Manuals, OBD Scanners & More! some software bundles that cost $768.00. It shows 3 cartridges,a 12-pin adapter, and a manual. Now I need something else with this to make it work on my pc or what? Someone said I need a 6-9 pin deutsch connector or something. Could you perhaps help and tell me exactly what I'll need with the Detroit Diesel DDEC I,II software for it to work on my pc the way I would like it to work? You know for the speed control and all that stuff? Much appreciated thank you.
