Post New trucker, Hazmat preparation information

I just got my CDL through my work a month ago and they want me to get my Hazmat endorsement, I am a pretty smart person but I know how those DMV tests can word things and switch things around. I am looking for a website with some good information, practice tests/quizzes etc. but hopefully have some for free? I really don't feel like shelling out an extra $50 when they give you a CDL handbook with all the necessary information but the practice quizzes would be nice. I found one with 10 questions, but that is the only 10 questions they will give you. Also if it matters, it is in NC. I appreciate all the help!

ok
read the material
only answer the questions you are 100% sure of
not 99%
do not guess
there are a lot of slam dunks in the test
answer them first
it's not a hard test

remember bol order,,,,,,,,, name, rank and serial # pg group
name- rank- serial #

what to do when you get a flat
where do you put the hazmat papers
how do you cross rr tracks
stop how many ft from rr crossing
who is responsible for shipping papers
the radio active answer is "degree of control"
placards....communicate the risk or hazard
how do you know if its a hazmat bol ..H in column, highlighted etc
how many lbs before you need a placard?
the bulk container rules how many placards, empty with residue
where do you put placards on truck
what is the dimension of placard
what hazmat requires a placard regardless of quantity

I took the test a few months ago
the above are on it
There are plenty of "all of the above" answers
You don't need a course just read the handbook a couple of times
If you do the slam dunks first chances are you will not have to go back at all

gonfercoffee is a genius and what he told you is correct, but allow me to offer some additional help.

CDL hazmat (Hazardous Materials) free practice test - questions & answers is exactly what the test looks like and is absolutely free. I think a disgruntled DMV employee just downloaded the test word for word.

After failing the first time, I found this web site and I thought I was looking at the same test I just took. It is a slam dunk.

Alot of people make out that the test is very hard. It's not that bad.
If you don't need to have the H-Z tag, don't get it. When you get it you have to get your finger prints done and a background check. It cost me $95 plus the cost of my CDL license. The price of Homeland Security. At least in OH

Thank you so much for the help, I have been studying all night then looked what was posted and it makes me feel much better. Thanks so much again, I just received my letter today I can get it and going to take the test tomorrow! And if something happens and I don't pass, than I will definitely be ready 100% the second time.

Ya my job is requiring it, we are in food distribution but also deal with hydraulic oils and none of our drivers have their endorsement so asking me to get it, fine with me! more on the resume and more money in my pocket. thanks again all
