Default What are the Average O/O expenses?

I will like to know the average owner operator expenses monthly.
Insurance, fuel, permits, truck payments etc... .Assume you have not paid off your truck yet.

Earlier there was a post that said $800 was very little for a 1317 mile trip. What is a decent O/O load rate for 1300 miles?

Well I am not an O/O but holy smokes that rate for 1300 miles re damn diculous..lol. Do the math that would barely pay fuel.......it is only 60 cents a mile! If you figure 6 miles to the gallon with 2.50 a gallon diesel that is about a .42 cent a mile cost to operate the truck just for fuel......only leaves ya about .18 cents to pay yourself, maint, taxes, etc. I believe most owner operators earn a dollar or more a mile plus fuel surcharge.

My truck and trailer cost right at $1.00/mile to operate, not including my wages.

Last year when Fuel was insanely priced, I drove for a small company that had 2 OTR Combos and OUR RATE PER MILE was $1.50 minimum including my cpm.
That rate of $1.50 was a break even rate and although we tried mostly unsuccessfully to get it, we sometimes got it but had to fold up the OTR side of that business because we were basically hauling for free.

Unless you can get at least $1.80 to $2.00 per mile or you're financially independent, YOU'RE WASTING YOUR TIME.

keep in mind their are loads of 1.00 per mile loads and even less. Like I said I just hauled a load for a broker who will remain un-named from Arabi,La to Somerset,KY 709 miles for a total carrier pay of 670 bucks! How desperate the company I work for is....or they are just plain liars.....i dunno

Is it possible to consistently get $1.80 to $2.00 per mile these days?
Obviously loads have to move.
