Default Need info on Stevens Transport

Got a friend of mine that is looking to make a career change and wanted to find out Stevens Transport. I guess they are hiring in his area. Anyway I told him to sign up here and ask questions about Pay, Hometime, Equipment, how the company treat's it's drivers, etc. Any help would be much appreciated.

Havent heard anything but wish him the best of luck. Just tell him to realize this is probably one of the worst times in history to try to get into this industry and wherever he goes that he should tough it out, it will get better.

The only bad thing I've heard about Stevens is that they are rarely home.

I started out at Stevens. I was with them one year. It took three to four months before they let me drive alone. I started driving with a trainer then drove with another rookie. At the time, we were not allowed to go home until we finish the training. Once I was alone, I was home every three weeks without having to ask for it. You had four to five days off.
My pay was .12 a mile while training. .22 a mile once I was alone. It would have taken
me five years to make it up to .27.
You are expected to accept every load. You were expected to go into NYC and Canada.
I never was treated badly by the dispatcher.
I quit because my wife camedown with cancer. Otherwise I would have stayed for a while.

Today, I have no idea if they still operate like this.
I drove for them six years ago.
A positive with them was they had you moving. You rarely sat for long.
Very comfortable trucks,Kenworths. They drove like a car.
