Default question about pay for loads bulk oil

The company I am starting with next week pays there drivers for hauling load of bulk oil like this they pay you a set $ amount for local loads delivered from Roxanna Ill. to St Louis longer distance they per mile if your detained for 2 hours or more they pay you hourly. Does this sound like a pretty good deal or not?
by the way on the mileage pay he told me 2 cents out of the set mileage pay is non taxable. any thought would be appreciated

My company works about the same way. Any load under 100 miles is on a set rate, which works out to be about 1 1/2 times what the mileage rate would be. A load going 1/2 mile pays 45 plus the pump pay and the rates go up from there. Anything over 100 miles is paid by the mile. We get hourly pay after 2 hours regardless of loading or unloading. 2 cent safety bonus, with 1 cent paid quarterly and the other paid yearly. We get 7 cents a mile per diem which isn't taxed. Tank wash is 25, pump is 12, back haul is 25 plus the load pay. Breakdown pay is 12 an hour. I think that is about it. Hope this helps.
