The new Obama transition team has put up a website for suggestions from the public from which Obama will personally read and review the top items. This can be reached from change.gov and clicking on Citizens Briefing Book in the center of the page.
Having noticed that no one had thus far introduced a suggestion for Truckers that I could find, I felt compelled to add one. I posted a short note regarding Split Speeds and the hazards they represent, as well as the way it could be addressed at the federal level.
The way this Obama suggestion site works is that anyone can vote a posted idea up or down. Each vote counts 10 points. Those with the most points (they don't say how many of the top will be taken to him) will make it to Obama's desk. If you agree that split speeds are a bad idea, take a moment and drop by the site to vote this up a bit higher. The title of what I put up is "National Speed Limit Guidelines - Split Speeds." Now I am not naive. I know this isn't likely going to get much done, however if we don't at least try when an opportunity is offered then we have no place to complain about things.
