Truck stop manager demoted to pizza boy then "promoted" to security guard

Here's an interesting story on CNN about a truck stop manager who loses his job to the economy, is forced to deliver pizzas by his wife (which they claim is shameful), and is then bragging and excited about landing a security guard job.

I know you can make more delivering pizzas then you can make being a security guard.

There's a lot of lively discussion after the story.

Less driving in a security job AND less tension/stress as in being a truck slop manager or pizza delivery.
Most security gigs are unarmed.
Most security gigs are monotonous compared to the activity level of a truck stop. I guess he has some books or will get creative in staying awake.

Maybe the cost of insurance for a family of 6 is over what they are able to afford on a monthly basis.
COBRA ain't cheap just for one person.
Maybe sometime they'll be able to afford such family coverage.

I may as well look into a security gig as it would be better than pizza delivery or flippin burgers or heavy equipment operator: shovel handler.
