Spint charges 5.00 to pay your bill in cash

The other day while at a shopping center I decided to go in and pay my Sprint phone bill, so I count out the cash and the little pimple face behind the counter informs me thatthere is a 5.00 charge for paying in cash. So being the big rugged truck driver I am I told him to go fu*k himself,stay with me here. When I get home I called customer service and explained what happened and they informed me that it was company policy to charge a "convenience " fee for cash. I guess you all know I changed phone companies .BOYCOTT SPRINT

I have been with Sprint for 10 years and have several lines of service. As much as they have been a pain in the *****, they have also given me several perks to keep me as a customer. In exploring other phone co.'s I found that I could probably get better service somewhere but at this point, I have too much invested in hardware from Sprint to change. I can live with the mediocrity of their coverage and the tons of dropped calls I experience on a regular basis. I call them up and say that I am going to leave, they throw everything at me short of a bl**-job to keep me as a customer.

The $5.00 surcharge is ludicrous. Especially when you are in their store. I pay mine online.

I would have turned the phone off if my contract was up at that very minute and switched.

Fee for cash may actually be illegal because of the statement " this note is legal tender for all debts, public and private" I think this is just asking for a class action suit, ask the lawyer guy here Opie

thats bizarre,guess cash is no longer king in these here parts

Unfortunately, a lot of cell phone companies are doing that. They are pushing the "auto-pay" thing. Guess they figure if they charge you for every little thing that is associate with your bill, you will switch to "auto-pay".

I recently had to pay my property and school taxes. The bill touted that it could be paid online. When I went there, was informed that there would be a $5 "convienence charge" to pay online.

Got out an envelope, inserted a check and affixed a $.42 stamp. Online payments of bills is great and saves lots of postage but one goofy request such as the tax office and it negates the $$$ savings of online bill pay.
