Graduated from a Driving School?
Why can't the School help with placement?
Since your DUI is somehow invisible, DO NOT MENTION IT! I wish mine from '91 would disappear.
There are companies that can help you to get started however there are companies that have quit training newbies altogether.

I don't know anything about them. You will hear a lot of horror stories about them, but always remember, a job is what (you) make out of it, not what everybody else says. If you don't want to go OTR, you might try getting on with a local dump truck co. or something comparable until you can get some time under your belt. Experience and a clean driving record are about everything in this business. Good luck!

Thank you very much, I was hired by swift when I 1st started in school, when I got my learners permit swift found I had the DUI on my back check & they droped me, I try to explain the judge instructed me not to talk about it, they still didn;t want to work with me , so every application I filled out, I came up front & mension it so I guess all teucking knows about it , but I think since so many changes in the system not too many company's hireing, but I'm back out to work, as much as I would have loved to be an OTR driver, i;m not gona let it bother me .... again thank you ,

That might be your best bet. If the DUI is not on your record, how did they find out about it?
It's stupid the way these laws are these days. I know someone who stopped by a bar on his way home from work, had 3 beers, got in a wreck on his way home,(not his fault) and the officer smelled alcohol on his breath, instant DUI, not even buzzed.

Why you would go to trucking school with a pending, unresolved DUI is beyond reason. I would forget about trucking with that kind of background. There are already enough burnouts behind the wheel. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
