Exclamation CDL Class in CT to good to be true??

Hey all, I've been reading the forums for a while and thought I'd make a post. I found a place that says they can get me my CDL-A in 2 days + 1 day for a test and it would only cost me 1600 bucks(That's how I understood it). I want to know if I should go through with it or not since it sounds way to simple. My friend went to NETTTS it took him 6 months and 8 grand another school AllState wants 4800 for 6 weeks. So I don't get it, why would this guy be any different. He has no website at all either. Do you guys think this is a scam or could it be for real?? How can I find out?? Cause right now I am lol.

I really need to get my CDL since I was just laid off from my job, and all the money I have left would go to this "school" plus whatever else I can put together from bottles and cans in my basement and spare change. I don't want to make a huge decision to find out that I am royally being screwed

Someone please help me out,

Thanks,
Joe aka WanabeTrucker

if these other schools want that much, how can this guy do it for that. Most schools are from 3-6 weeks depending on how often your there and how well you learn. I have seen people take longer, if they only go part time. You probally can check with the state to see if this so called school is lic to train CDL drivers. It sounds like alot of BS
though. Don't give him any money till you check him out though.

I've got a little experience on driving I was in a school operated by the US Govt/DOL. Now he says in CT there is no set amount of hours you need like I thought you needed 120 hours of training, So the training is from 8-5 for 2 days and then the day of the test at the DMV and we are done which is a total of 24 hours he said. He wants a deposit of atleast 200 bucks, and there is no business address either we are going to meet in a parking lot close to him(I will be bringing a friend chambered in 9mm just in case) to pick up a packet containing contracts, and information on getting my permit.

See the problem is this sounds awesome considering I am broke and I can get 1600 easy as I am only a few hundred short I can't afford 4800 or 8000.... That is why I am practically drooling because of the opportunity now my "dream" is getting shot because it just sounds fishy.

I know 3 days is not enough to train someone to drive, but I'm desperate and looking for a cheaper price especially being laid off.

I forgot to ask, how bad of an idea is it to go with a company sponsored school such as Schneider or something like that, I mean I have read a few horror stories but are they all true or just over exaggerations? I am really looking at this option instead of wasting money I ain't got.

Thanks for the help guys!

Can anyone offer anymore ideas into this?

Schniedr has closed thier school. and i do believe Swift did also. right now, i wouldn't recommend any trucking company sponsored schooling. you could be just as out of luck as with that scammer (unless you're joking with us, of course).

i think unemployment now pays for some type of schooling. inquire at your unemployent office, monday, or any day next week.

now, if you are on the "up and up" and this is not a joke thread, then DO NOT PAY any money to that guy in a parking lot. i mean c'mom, use your head here.....
