Default Helpful Tip - Wiper Blades

I detest nasty and dirty wiper blades. Many folks will just replace them. I can usually get a few more months out of them if I pour rubbing alcohol on a paper towel and rub up and down the length of the rubber. Makes a world of difference and will extend your blades a little longer.

Good Advice. LTL Lifer.
I also use Rain-X on the windshield, side windows and mirrors. It also makes a world of difference.
I also use the Rain-X and rub it up and down the length of the rubber wiper blade.
When you wipers start chattering, it's time to apply another coating of Rain-X to the windshield. It lasts longer on the side windows and mirrors.

i personally use "DE-Natured" alcohol on mine. less likely to damage the rubber, and does a great job of removing the grit and grime embedded into the blades.

I have been hesitant to use Rain-x. Always hear good things about it but really never gave it a chance. I think I was in in 1 vehicle in the rain that had it and maybe it was that time when I formed my opinion. may need to give it another chance.

I found that one of the best things is to get the glass clean. I use a stuff called "Glass Polish" or "Glass Stripper." I get mine at NAPA but have seen it marketed under different names. It is like a rubbing compound but it is in more of a liquid and extremely fine grit and won't scratch the glass. It gets all of the built up crap off the windshield. I quit using Rain-X on the windshield but continue to use it on the side glass. And like the others said use alcohol on the blades. I find that Evan Williams or Jack Daniels works the best.
