Default screwed by doing the right thing

Here's my story, Friday morning my previous company called me offered me my job back, I accepted. Friday afternoon I sat down with current boss and told him I was putting in my two weeks politely, when he asked why I explained truthfully that I was called back to my old job. Monday when I was done with my routs a loads he called into his office and pretty much since I put my two weeks in he's not going to waste his time working me and to go ahead and clean my truck out go home and not come back. So much for doing the right thing and trying to quit the right way.
WTF!!!

as an after thought maybe I should have told just that I had a better offer and not expanded on it more than that. oh well least it's already guaranteed I have my old job back.

If you would have walked in and said "take this job and shove it" they would have DCAed you. So you took the high road and still got the shaft. I bet the future employer will take you within a day or two. I wouldn't sweat it, you did the right thing. And if you can't start right away take some R&R.

pretty much neice his words "why should i work you since you put your two weeks in there are guys who want to stay here and work. Tell you guys what taking the high road staying calm, shaking his hand saying thank the opportunity to work was the hardest thing I've ever done, when what I really wanted to do was reach acrossed the desk grab him by the colar and punch him in the face repeatedly. that guy is a not worth my time
