Default 34 hour reset

When you're over the road and you're due for a reset, what does a trucker do with the time? Where do you go? What kind of recreation is available and how do you get there?

Thanks

whatever you do, DO NOT DRINK. in some areas, there WILL BE someone watching you. all you need to do is go into a bar or buy some beer then get into the truck by using the driver's door, and you're done. do not even sit in the driver's seat with the engine idling.

whatever YOU DO on your 34 hour reset is up to you. i prefer to get a good hot shower, a good meal, then relax by watching tv in the "common room" at the truck stop. maybe at times i will read several newspapers and magazines.

its going to get boring at the truck stop or rest area, but this is something you have to live with, it's the job.

depending on where you run out of time there are alot of things to do.get a hotel get a good nights sleep then go fishing get a one day permit or find a range in the phone book and go skeet shooting.there are a million things to do on the road.a hotel is the best way becouse you can do what you want,if you go to a bar you wont have to worry like pro1driver said if you get in that truck after haveing a drink your done.

I guess I'm lucky in that I love to read. When I was with a company where I had to do 34 hour resets on the road, I would read books for the most part. I also have my laptop with me so I can get Internet access. I also have several movies on the laptop and can watch DVD's on it as well.

Basically, as long as I have my laptop I can do a 34 hour reset sitting on an entrance ramp and stay entertained. :)
