Ok lets say i qualify for the 70 hr rule but I myself only work 5 days...can I legally work 70 hrs in that 5 day period as long as I dont drive over 11 hrs a day or remain on duty for more than 14?? Esentially it would be working 5 14 hr days in a row. Does the DOT allow for this? Then over the weekend would be a restart and the 70 would reset???
Any clarity would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |
Hi there. ok. If the company operates 7 days a week then you can use the 70 hr rule. For your second question. As long as you only drive your 11 and take a 10 hour rest before your next driving session, you can work s long as you want, just can't drive again if u used 11 hours or it's over 14 hours since your last break. Now saying that, yes you can 5 14 hour days. Totally legal. Just can not do anything until you are off enough time to get hours back. In that case it would be the 34 hour reset. If you need me to clarify this answer more just let me know. I am pretty good at the HOS rules.
