Angry Need help. Truck won't start and it's COLD

Hello all....I'm SO PISSED right now let me just say. I'm in
Denver, been here 2 days waiting 4 a load.
My 16 gig iPhone fell in the toilet......it's dead.

Now when I go to turn on the truck because it's FREEZING
OUT here....it doesn't turn on. The lights come on, all my stuff
Is still charging via inverter, Imma shut it all down soon though.....and um, what's happening simply is that when I turn on the key, I get the normal beep sound one gets b4 actual button press of ignition start. Then when I go to turn on, nothing happens, I get a red shut down light on the dAsh and that's it.

Any ideas? It COLD OUT Here....I'm cramping up....bout to go to flying j and chill in there.
Oh and I FINALLY got a load going back home for a 11am pickup....I SO don't want to get stuck on this long weekend.

If I read this correctly, your starter will not turn over when you hit the start button.

What is the voltage reading on your dash? It sounds to me like you have either dead batteries and need a boost or your starter has bit the dust.

there can be a few things wrong.

first, you could have weak batteries, or at the very least, one weak (or dead) battery. so therefore, they need to be checked out individually.

next, when (and if) that problem is found, the charging system should be tested as well. a dash board gauge or idiot light are "generalized" conditions of the system, but NOT EXACT in thier measurments. an idependant testing meter should be used.

as for the RED Shut Down light, its most likely the computer doing this, and from here, a myriad of things CAN BE setting it off. again, we can only surmise the problems, but you really NEED to get a mechanic to check this out.

on the very least of things you CAN DO, is remove the battery cables ONE by ONE, and clean them, and re-install them. doing this ONE AT ATIME will lessen the chances of confusion when re-installing them....

also one other thing which is troubling me.......

if IT's FREEZING OUT THERE, why did you turn off the truck...??

does it have an APU......???

if it DOESN'T have an APU, siting for 2 days as you said, you should have idled the engine. driver comfort IS ALLOWED when idling engines, IN ALL STATES........

it would be to your benefit to check ALL the ground wires and CLEAN them, thanks in part to that "liquid salt" most states use for de-icing the highways.

that crap gets into every "nook and cranny" and sets up a barrier.

glad to hear you are warm again.............
