I know I made the switch to Sirius last year because Nascar moved there. That's the only reason I like Sirius better

I don't think theres anything to worry about with the subscribers. Sign up for the one year special for $77. All you have to do is call and b**** about the price when you renew. I've gotten it every year. They aren't going to burn their subscribers for the subscriptions. It would tick too many people off. The satellites are up there in the sky and someone is going to use them whether they go bankrupt or not.

The companies have merged. The programming line up is being integrated and some programming from XM will fall off as well as some from the Sirius side.

The companies are struggling fianancially but I doubt they will go out of business. There is a big demand for the service especially from drivers in the trucking industry.

One big problem with this poll.
Cirrius/XM is one in the same now.

I've had XM since it's inception in 2001. My biggest gripe with them is the repetitive advertising ad nauseam. If you listen to any of the talk shows, there is 5 minutes of programming and then what seems like 10 minutes of commercials. Over and over and over again with the same commercials. Pretty sad when one can recite the commercials in their sleep. AHRQ, debt relief, save the environment, etc...repeated 4-5 time in an hour.

I don't know what is going to happen to sirius/xm. I, too, have a lot of money invested in XM hardware. Have paid in advance fto take advantage of discounts. They go under and I may have to think of exercising my 2nd amendment rights.

Like truckinusa said, someone is going to use these sats in the sky for broadcasting. That should quell any concerns of the switch being flipped to off.

Maybe they should talk to Jeff about how to institute an "ads-free" premium member option.
