Default Trying to get back in the driver's seat

Hey everyone, I've been trying to get back into trucking after beening away from it for 6 years.
Back in 2000, I went to driving school and then went to drive for Trans Am OTR for about 18 months. After that, I returned home to drive for Pepsi for about 6 months.
The only company that would get me back in was...you guessed it...CREngland. Their training time is totally ridiculous...they want me to go on the road with a trainer for 90 days! Yes, it's been awhile, but I know for a fact it won't take me long to get back into it.
Does anyone know of a company who would be willing to take me on with a short-term retraining schedule?
Thanks so much...GATOR

I had a cousin who drove CR England.
They re-neged on every promise they made, never got him home, etc.
They finally got him home after several months whereupon he jumped
ship and went to work for a local outfit.
Don't hang yer hat with those guys.
They have ads everywhere you look trolling for more fools.
Stay away.

I do not think that any company is going to rehire you without recent driving experience, your best bet is to find one that will train you that fits your needs, even if you find one that will put you behind the wheel on your own, I do not recomend it, alot has changed since '00 that you will not be able to p/u on your own. I went from driving over the road for 14 years then drove heavy haul dedicatec with a 35' dump trailer for two years and when I went back on the road those 53'rs seemed a heck of alot bigger then I remembered

Thanks prime rib and boone, I fully understand that I'm gonna have to go through some re-training and I have NO problem with that, I just think 90 days on the road with a trainer is a bit much, plus, I don't want to work for England anyway.

Personally. I would find a truck driving school that offers a "refresher course", usually just a couple of weeks. Then you will have recent schooling, that along with your previous work experience, will open a lot more opportunities for you.
