I think a lot of you guys & gals have waaaay to much time on yer hands.
First off this is trucking -- not the U.S. State Dept.
Most drivers I know show up for their interview wearing a torn shirt half open with
their gut hanging out, mangled blue jeans, and pair of dusty ole cowboy boots.
Not the suit & tie shown in the 50+ guide shown above...lol
Unless you happen to apply for one of those spit & polish driver leasing outfits
you can leave that Michael Milken look at home.
If yer willing to what ut takes, when it takes, you'll hit a home run every time.

I can say for a fact that at 50+ I'm not near as sharp on the road as I was at 20+. And.....I hate it.

Ditto that.
I turned 50 this year already.
I can say my OTR days are long since behind me.
No way I could up that pace anymore.
I prefer local work without busting yer gut lumping freight.
Once you hit 50 most companies don't want you.
You're to much of a risk for injury, sick days, etc.
Since the slowdown I've gone back to my former job running a press
and local courier work.
Just not enough work to pay the bills in trucking right now.
