Default Swift Transportation

Everybody that went to Swift to get your CDL you need to double check with your home state to make sure your CDL is still good.
Seriously people. Do it!!!!!
People are already finding out the hard way when they go renew their CDL.

My son-in-law found out today when he went to renew his motorcycle license in Georgia that his CDL had been flagged.

He`went to Swift school in Memphis over two years ago. Now he has until May 15 to get a legit license in order to keep his job driving a concrete truck.
After hearing this at the testing center today, he recieved a letter today from the GA DOT telling him he must re-take the written and skills portion by May 15 to avoid CDL being revoked. Of course he must provide a vehicle for the test and pay full fee.

Every state has their own guidelines, with MO being March 29, so be sure to find out if you're affected by this.

I smell a class action lawsuit. This guy in the article waited 5 wks for a load. The tuition is still on his credit.Sounds like Swift is at fault for not putting this guy to work or give him a layoff.Misrepresentation by SWIFT.

What's wierd too, is there have been no charges filed against Swift, after being raided by the FBI, ATF, Tennessee State Marshalls, FMCSA, Immigration & Customs and TN Highway Patrol, and numerous documents were seized.

And there was no evidence of wrongdoing?

Well there was evidence of something because of the thousands that have to be retested but I think there was some errmmm under the table stuff going on that kept Swift from actually being charged with anything so to speak.

Don't know bout Tn. employment regulations, but if I was that dude I would have been signing up after the 2nd week of no work. In Oh., "Lack of Work" from an employer is cause enough to collect bennies. Swift probably would TRY to fight it but at least the driver (if in Oh.), would have a right to collect till proven "uneligiable" or in more likelyhood, "eligible". If proven ineligible, he of course would be required to pay back whatever he had been paid from the state.

I have to apoligise for posting this comment. I'm trying to compare one states policies to another. And that is not fair. I would delete this, but I'm such a slow typer, it took me forever to write this and don't want to waste all my effort
JUST MY HUMBLE OPINION
