Don't know bout Tn. employment regulations, but if I was that dude I would have been signing up after the 2nd week of no work. In Oh., "Lack of Work" from an employer is cause enough to collect bennies. Swift probably would TRY to fight it but at least the driver (if in Oh.), would have a right to collect till proven "uneligiable" or in more likelyhood, "eligible". If proven ineligible, he of course would be required to pay back whatever he had been paid from the state.
I have to apoligise for posting this comment. I'm trying to compare one states policies to another. And that is not fair. I would delete this, but I'm such a slow typer, it took me forever to write this and don't want to waste all my effort
