Default 70 hour/8day rule team driver question

Just started team drivin and we need to know is it possible to run without using the 34 hour restart rule? I say yes, but you can not have lines 3 and 4 total more than 10 hours a day. Is this line of thinking correct or am I in error? Any light on this subject is greatly appreciated.

Drive safe guys,
Jason Bourne

I believe you can as long as you still have your 10 hours off inbetween your onduty and driving time.

We are runnin 10 hours on then we are in sleeper or line one for 10 hours. My co-driver seems to think we would run out of hours on the seventh day.......... I say the first day would fall off the re cap and give back that 10 hours

Default Logging

Here is some info. on H.O.S. rules.

This first page has a summery of them at the bottom of the page.
Hours-of-Service Regulations - Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration

This link has a very good 22 page guide about logging. This is a pdf file.

I hope this helps. I have run team off and on for a long time. You may run out of hours but not that often. You will find that Eating, Showers, Waiting for loads ect. will spread out those 70 Hrs. enough to keep you running. But if you do run out your hours, I think you will be ready for a break. Remember don't kill yourself out there, That way you can enjoy your home time and it will improve the quality of your life on the road.

HAVE A GREAT DAY AND GOD BLESS!

It's possible, certainly. Especially right now with freight so slow it's unlikely you'll run out of hours anyway. In all the years my wife and I have run team we've never run out of hours, even during 7000 plus mile weeks.

A team truck only needs to sit 24 hours for both drivers to get the 34 hour reset. One of you take the 10 before the 24 and the other gets the 10 after to make the 34 work.
