Default Kreilkamp in Ottawa,IL

Can anyone give me 1st hand experience at the Ottawa yard or company. I was told by AL the recruiter that they are hiring local out of Ottawa,IL doing Kohls freight. Most will be 2 nights out per week, and working 6 days a week.

Paying .36 mile which is kinda low isn't it? (especially if running local)

Orientation is supposed to May 5th in Wi. AL said they would put me in a hotel and pay me $300 for the 3 days, but never told me how I am supposed to get there. Al did tell me not to drive because I will be leaving with a truck. I applied just incase I don't find anything else.

I am not realling looking for a OTR job--
I'm not desperate for a job. I haven't even collected my 1st unemployment check yet.

I know a few guys that went there after CF closed up. But they were up here in Wisconsin. All but one moved on to better paying jobs. The one put in about 6 years and retired. I talked to him last week, and he generally liked working there.

If you're going back to YrC someday, this probably wouldn't be a bad place to hang out for a while. Just make sure that you will be driving a day cab and only doing Kohls work. Otherwise you may end up doing regional work with back hauls that take more time than their worth to you.

36cpm sounds about right compared to dedicated runs with t/l carriers.

Later, former Yellow MIL
