Default Logbooks matching Quallcom

Does your logbook have to match times on your quallcom? Maverick is going to start in June from what I've heard. That will suck. Its gonna make it hard to make any money especially in a flatbed.

Qualcomm time stamps are a supporting document in a DOT audit. Actually, ANY GPS tracking device(XATA,PEOPLENET,QUALCOMM) can be used in an audit. So, yes, the logs need to match. They also need to match toll receipts,EZ-PASS time stamps, fuel receipts, customer sign-in sheets, and the list goes on. There is a LONG list of "SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS" that the DOT can use to audit your logs when they do a company audit.

Remember, what you logged last week can come back and haunt you up to six months later(and longer if you are involved in an accident).

double r what you're saying is not wrong but all of those things never bite you unless you are picked out during a close look in an audit--or--you're involved in a very serious crash and they start comparing.

What sjearnhardt is talking about is that the company is going to start checking QC as a routine and holding you to account for your QC. Most companies don't do this, they generally just check the fuel receipts for compliance.

I know that. It's called "CYA". Just giving him another reason why you "should" log it as you do it. As for checking the Qualcomm, I always thought that companies did that. Guess not. We don't use Qualcomm.
And yes, some of those things I listed can bite you. Depends on your company's safety department. All those is what we use to verify our drivers logs.

I never had a GPS device tracking me but was told that if audited, my log had to be within a half hour of fuel and tolls. A half an hour isn't much, but wonder if the window is still the same with such definate devices?
