I was never a Monfort driver, but I was a "Critter". Does that count for anything? I was with National back when it meant something.

Any time I get in the Monfort lane people are cussing me. At least they are saying the company name. GD FedEx truck... F'in' FedEx truck...

Hay, FedEx pays a lot of money to get the name recognition out there, I'm just doing my part.

Tom Inman used to say " the only thing faster than TI is air freight" Tom Inman was every bit as fast as Monfort, I know, I spent many a summer in an Inman truck doing 95 across the desert with plenty more mph to spare!!

Oh and no a/c, I think thats why Dad drove so fast..LOL

I believe Monfort was bought out by Con Agra (guess). When Monfort ran from Greeley to New York across I-80 they supposedly ran 3 to a truck with one driver taking off a trip. Monfort hammered down across I-80 and I never saw one pulled over for speeding. Best to just stay out of there way. Passing lane was the Monfort lane... anyone remember what we called the slow lane? (in the midwest anyways).

Granny lane? Just a guess, I only have 18 years out here, some of that stuff is b-4 my time. I took a big interest in Dads career though, so I know a little of what happened b-4 my time, not much but some.

The left lane. In the old days Monfort owned I80. If you had a truck that could, just keep up, you got free coffee. Those trucks would haul butt. I had a '79 KW, walkin,6X4 tranny, 475 Cat(tuned up) and could keep up till the tranny started heatin' up.Man, I better quit, I'm gettin' chill bumps. Thanks for the trip down memory lane there Deuce.
