Default Driver verification

How do Companies verifiy a potential new drivers work history if the Company has closed? Would a signed letter from the old owner work?

Please help.

that's one way.........but it HAS TO BE on company letterhead, or at the very least, a NOTORIZED letter............

then IF and i do say IF the old employer was in ANY WAY a memebr of DAC/USIS, then the new company can get that information through that as well

your w2's, DAC report. Some don't check. If you find one like that and they pay for experience then tell them you worked for some company thats out of business to start at a higher rate.

WELCOME TO TRUCKINGBOARDS!!

Whenever I apply for jobs, I simply list the Dates I worked at those defunct companies with the then current phone number, Address, City, State, Zip. Other than that information, it is out of my hands.

Yes to concur with pro1driver, if you know the previous Owner(s) and you are able to get a statement NOTARIZED, then you'll have the proof you need, otherwise the S.S.A. can do a background check and verification for a chunk of change.
I'm sure there are MANY other verification potentials out there.

Thank you so much for the responses. My previous company is gone now but the old general mangr is a close friend of mine and would sign any letter I needed. Should it just say that he was the GM and what my duties were? He will be willing to take a call from them as well. I hope this will be good enough.
