Arrow Quick Question About My Truck, Much Appreciated If answered!!

Hello, I have quick question about my truck. I hope some of you might know the answer to it. I rebuilt my truck's engine and put in a new turbo in it as well but it does not have any power now and the mechanic does not know what's the problem. Any guesses about what might be wrong with it? Thank You very much for anyone who answers!!

The thing-a-ma-bob next to the whatchmacallit is out of wack. That's my best guess with the info that you supplied.

With a description like you gave, I would say the angle of the dangle, does not correspond with the heat of the meat, Mate.

who ACTUALLY rebuilt the motor.....YOU.....or the MECHANIC....???

if it WAS the mechanic........he's the one RESPONSIBLE for diagnosing HIS WORK........

if it WAS YOU that rebuilt the engine, then the mechanic probably figures that since you took on such an undertaking of the job, he thinks you SHOULD be able to find the problem yourself.....so he's "blowing you off" of any responsibility to find any problem.....

getting back to the "mechanic"....its HIS RESPONSIBILTY to do some fact finding, after all, that's what YOU PAID HIM FOR...........

and if he's so inept at finding the problem, have your truck towed someplace, have a "real" mechanic diagnose the problem, fix the problem, then you demand the first mechanic pay for the extra repairs.....

this can either be as simple as an intercooler hose that's cracked, or an injector pump timing, or a sensor that got broken.

then again, it CAN be as complicated as something else.........

Since no Engine Make, Model was offered for advice, if it's a Detroit it could very well be the Timing which is that BIG PLATE on the front of the Engine chock full of Gears.
If it's a CAT (3406 and such) it could very well be the Timing Tab or clicker on the front lower left of the Engine inside a Cover.
If it's a Volvo, oh well and the same for a Cornbinder and a Mack.

Could be the WRONG SIZED Turbo.
Did you replace with the SAME TYPE?
Was the Computer RESET??

Could be the WRONG VALVE setting.

The Mechanic reads more like a Technician and since he rebuilt the Engine he should KNOW WITHOUT A DOUBT why it isn't performing.

It really sucketh when one has dropped up to or beyond $17,000.00 to rebuild an Engine and then it runs worse than before.
If you owe ANY BALANCE defer payment till the Engine is completely repaired.
GOOD LUCK!!
