Default Tri-Nat, TNI, Or RMR Driver Services

To anyone considering going to work for TNI, Tri-Nat or RMR Driver Services out of Earth City,MO

I would like to relate my experience working for TNI, Tri-Nat or RMR Driver Services whichever you would be inclined to call them. Before hiring with them I tried to find out something about them on the internet and amazingly couldn’t. They are nothing more than a predator company. I worked for them from Feb 2009 thru March 2009 and it was the biggest mistake of my life. First and foremost be aware that you are nothing but meat in the seat to them and they will let you know it. To start with they require 2 yrs experience and pay .32 per mile. You are supposed to be out 7 to 10 days and you’re given loose leaf logs for a reason. There trucks run at 65mph
They slip seat meaning you will have a different truck every time you leave out. When you go to orientation it is 8hrs unpaid and you will be required to sign a form stating that you will pay them 1.25 per mile if you run out of route. They’re medical benefits cover only you, you will be responsible for the full payment on any other family members

On my first trip out, I was enroute to Laredo from Pharr, TX and my truck blew an airline in a construction zone. When I called them, they said to let them find a vendor and they will get back to me. During this time I located a vendor an hour away from me and gave them the number. They called me back and said the vendor had a 3hr wait time, that they were sending a truck from the Laredo yard which was also 3hrs. So out of curiosity I called the vendor which I had located and found out he had no wait time and could be to me in 45min. (Why Lie just tell me the truth) Once I got to Laredo I sat there for 3 days waiting on a load with no layover pay.

The very next run from Laredo, I made my drop early and took an empty like I was supposed to, sent in my empty call and found a parking spot for the night (this is about 3am) I’m then awakened at 9am by my dispatcher calling telling me that the customer is on the phone wanting to know where they’re freight is.(This customer is Delphi anyone who deals with them knows that a dropped trailer sits for days before it’s touched). He then tells me my empty call was lost in the computer. Then why say the customer is on the phone. Again Why Lie just tell me the truth.

From there I take my empty to my next live load with an 8pm appointment time. When I get to security they ask me to slide my tandems back. Well they wouldn’t move, the weld in the handle was half cracked, and the customer refused to load me. So dispatch sent me to a TA to have them moved. When he finished the mechanic told me they wouldn’t be able to be moved again without coming back. So I head back to the customer and they now refuse to load me because of holes in the trailer wall. Dispatch then sends me to another shop to have the holes patched, and I finally get loaded at 2am.Now remember my tandems are all the way back so I still have to head back to the TA and have them moved again. (Turns out TNI picks up here all the time why wasn’t I given a trailer that meets this customers specifications). After all of this it’s 5am so I feel I deserve some hourly pay and request it. I’m told they only pay hourly for shuttle pay. I told them I was just shuttling they’re trailer from shop to shop for repairs, when they were aware of this customers requirements. Never got the pay

This load was heading to a Wal-Mart Dc in Alabama from Ohio so I get there to get unloaded and find out that Wal-Mart charges you $50.00 to unload there own freight. I contact dispatch who gives the ok but tells me to fax them a receipt or they will charge me for it.

After all this I have now been out for around 9 days and request a load heading home. I sat there for 3 days waiting on a load (No Layover Pay). During this time my truck broke down again, luckily I was at the truck stop this time. So they send a vendor out and it’s an electrical problem. He fixes it and he calls them for payment. They won’t pay him unless he faxes them a repair bill. So I have to follow him to his shop so he can fax them. Once I got loaded I headed to my home terminal where they just sent that trailer on with another driver (Who cares about repair anyway)

After being home for my rest my dispatcher calls and wants to know if I can make a run for him that delivers at 7am the next day its 900 miles I let him know he was really cutting it close but agreed. This run delivered in MI where I was stopped by the State Patrol for not wearing a seat belt (Turns out that is a primary offense in MI). He inspected me, gave me a ticket for the seat belt and I went on my way.

From MI I went back to Laredo where my truck breaks down again (remember they slip seat so this is a different truck) luckily I’m by the terminal and it is only a fuse.

From there they sent me to Brownsville, TX for a load telling me that the shipper is open till 7pm.I arrived at the shipper, turns out they close at 5. So I went to the truck stop for the night and went back in the morning. The trailer hadn’t even arrived from Mexico yet. So I waited a couple hours and it came in at about 9:30 am. (This was supposed to be a hot load from Brownsville to Mi) From there I had prescheduled to be home early from this tour due having to be out of town on family business. From Brownsville to my home terminal is about 770 miles in a truck that does 65mph. They called me at 12:30 am wanting to know if I had arrived at the terminal yet. (Just a little illegal).

After arriving back from my family business, I had letter in the mail telling me that I had been terminated due to receiving a ticket for not wearing a seat belt, that this was a violation of they’re safety policy . Keep in mind that this was not listed as a cause for termination on the list that was handed out a week earlier. This is being listed in my DAC as being terminated for violating company safety policy and I was just denied employment with another carrier because of it.
While I given some hint about it above there appt times are usually not legally possible and you are given loose leaf logs for a reason. I had nothing but problems with they’re equipment and you are nothing but a dog to them. I would urge anyone who is considering them to keep looking and save yourself a lot of pain and possibly your work record.

Best of Luck to You,
Johnnyr33

Thank you for the heads up and you stated 2 glaring reasons to avoid this company (those companies):
When you go to orientation it is 8hrs unpaid!!
( I could tolerate one or two days for free but they're responsible for Meals.)
You will be required to sign a form stating that you will pay them 1.25 per mile if you run out of route.
I, having seen such during the "welcome aboard" part of orientation, would have simply departed the premises.
They can give sloppy directions THEN claim one has traveled out of route.

I hate that you or anyone has experienced such a miserable group and someone surely WILL set them straight by either being in a fatal wreck or other incidents like a Level 1 Inspection.

I was just denied employment by another carrier today because of what they placed on my DAC.That I was terminated for Safety Reasons..The recruiter told me that as long as that is there I will have a rough road finding employment..(Remember all it was, is a seatbelt ticket) and I was with my former company 5yrs. I have placed my request for a copy of my DAC in the mail and now must begin the dispute process..

Steer clear of this company

I did the dispute process last year with DAC/USIS and after they received the form it took about 1 month to get resolved.
You as well can place your own statement(s) on the Record(s)/File(s) which should help alleviate any problems.

I suggest you as well acquire a copy of your State MVR.

Thanks...If I can't get it removed, I do plan on entering my statements.. I have received my MVR and nothing is on there pertaining to them
