Here is a stupid question to ask. When filling out a job application for a driving job under traffic convictions they ask you the location, date, charge and penalty. What does the penalty mean? Points or fine or what......LOL. I must be lacking sleep cuz I can't seem to figure it out right now.....

i would imagine the fine and points.........

but as i had never gotten any tickets in my years of driving, i can only surmise that's what you'd enter.

but if you HAVE TO ASK...........

you had better go and get yourself a copy of your DMV record, unless you already have one.

be careful here.............one ticket CAN BE one too many these days with the unemployment rates being what they are.......

any driver applying for the same job, with the same company and has a perfect driving record...........might get that all important interview......and then the guy (or gal) with just ONE TICKET might be ignored for an interview........

The only stupid question is the one not asked nor are you stupid for asking.

As pro1driver stated the Fine/Penalty section in the License part is asking for the CONVICTION or Fine/Penalty.
As in my case of the CHARGE being a speeding ticket (65 in a 45) and the Fine/Penalty being the CONVICTION of Improper Equipment-Speedometer or I just put in the Fine amount.

There are quite many if not all companies that have this section on their applications.

I like the part where it asks if ones License has EVER been suspended or revoked where most driving record checks only usually go back 10 years.
Some of the people at these companies do not know what EVER indicates, so I just go back 10 years and other times I mention the incident in '91 as if 18 years ago is relevant.
